Today’s PHREE video is packed with content: It’s Keenan’s series for finishing the Omaplata, a move that is rarely finished in high level competition, but its one of my favorites for submitting and gaining “top” position.

In this video he shows 3 variations which have made all the difference for him.

Click here to watch the Omaplata Finish Series http://www.tinyurl.com/KeenanCornelius

As you know, up until 2012 Keenan had a fairly mediocre career – certainly in big tournaments. Since the start of last year however he has rarely lost – amassing a record of 230 wins and 1 loss (which was avenged) as of this writing.

The key has been the emphasis on details and finishing the moves he used to miss.

So please, click the link below for instant access to the Omaplata Finish Series. Click here for instant access http://www.tinyurl.com/KeenanCornelius

Hey there…..

If you are a fan of competitive Jiu-Jitsu, you have certainly heard the name
Keenan Cornelius. As a matter of fact he was one of my clients. I served as his strength and conditioning coach along with D’Angelo Kinard who was his primary strength and conditioning coach. I was specifically hired when he and his former Jiujitsu coach challenged doggone near every brown belt on the planet in a “no time limit” gi and no gi tournament which is not only won, but DOMINATED.

He did NOT win because of me. He was winning before I met him and will continue to do so. I had the PLEASURE of working with him and having him place his trust in me to prepare him for success.

Keenan has won his weight class and the open division at every major IBJJF tournament in 2012 at purple belt and he has become, without question, the most dominant brown belt in history.

He basically doesn’t lose.

The funny thing about Keenan however is that he wasn’t always this dominant.
In fact up until 2012 – his sixth year of competition – he hadn’t won much at all
at the big tournaments.

Then something happened: He started winning those matches he used to lose and hitting those moves he used to miss. The changes he made in his technique weren’t huge – big doors swing on small hinges.

To be honest with you, Keenan was introduced to new instructional and training systems from a Coach that had experience training world class competitors and training with Olympians. As all competitors do, Keenan has moved on. As a competitor, you learn as much as you can and then you move on and continue your developmental process.

Keenan is doing something now that he was never willing to do before. He is sharing some of the knowledge, know-how and information that he has learned, developed, and synthesized to become the dominant figure in the sport which he is today.

Today Keenan would like to share with you one specific change that has made all the difference in the world.

You can watch the free video by clicking this link –> http://www.tinyurl.com/KeenanCornelius

In THIS VIDEO Keenan will demonstrate his favorite choke after taking his opponent’s back. It has upped his submission percentage tremendously and he’ll show it to you right now at no charge.

Click here for instant access –> http://www.tinyurl.com/KeenanCornelius

============
Introduction
============

I heard the most ridiculous statement a few days ago.

I overheard high ranking judoka talking to a group of people and saying, “With these new rules, now we can get back to REAL JUDO and stop all of this grip fighting stuff. Grip fighting is dead now.”

WHAT A FREAKING IDIOT!!!!

And no, I don’t enjoy calling people idiots. Nor is it something that I really want to do, but in this case, it is a must.

Why?

Because grip fighting is not dead. No where close to being dead. If anything there is MORE OF A PREMIUM put on grip fighting. And its even more important.

Why?

Because if I get my hands in the appropriate and right position first and am patient and refuse to “settle” for a bad grip, the rules are in place such that, it makes it very difficult for you to REMOVE my grip

If anything paying attention to gripping now is CRUCIAL

==============
The Adjustments
That Jimmy and I
have made
==============

To be honest……

We have not made any.

We teach grip fighting. We teach how to control the gi and get in position to throw.

We teach and instruct people how to attack the sleeve and to grip fight proactively and positively while looking for and creating scoring opportunities.

This is what we have been doing since we have dominated the world of grip fighting instruction in instructional media for almost 10 years now and this is what we will continue to do.

We will teach a brand, style and method of competitive judo that will be relevant no matter how the rules change because we are teaching judo and a method of creating opportunities that is based on strategic hand placement and body positioning.

We are committed to teaching you how to become a more successful judoka and to do so by packaging our years of experience as coaches, players and students of the game to help you become a better teacher, player, coach and judo parent.

That what we are committed to doing.

================
Have You Seen This
Video?
=================

Please LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY to what Jimmy Pedro says about THIS GRIP FIGHTING system and how it has CREATED champions. He mentions everyone from himself to Ronda Rousey to Kayla Harrison.

Listen, if you don’t want this information or think it’s too expensive. That’s cool.

But, I’ve spent, EASILY, over $100K on my judo career, training and development and, Jimmy has spent wayyyyyyy more than that. And the acquisition of such knowledge came at a monetary and physical cost. Lord knows we still pay every morning when we wake up.

So, if you are willing to travel all around the country to go to judo tournaments, you have to be intelligent enough to KNOW that this is a great investment.

It’s less than a plane ticket and a hotel stay. But you will learn so much more.

Introduction
==============

So I’m packing for our trip to France.

As I’ve told many you before, the Lil guy and I are traveling to Paris, France this week.

Rufus is super excited. I want to see how excited he is after he steps on the mat for the practice sessions LOL!!

He is going to be in for a rude awakening but he will have fun. He’s fighting in a weight class where the kids will probably be 4 to 5 kilograms heavier than him. I really want to see how he handles the adversity.

All in all, I’m sure we will have a great time.

My son has been at home practicing his french. We had to go to the Library and get some books and talk about France before our trip. I’m glad that he is able to have such a great educational experience.

=============
So I was asked to
bring my gi
=============

In preparation for Rufus’s trip I was also asked to “bring my gi along.” Immediately I wanted to know…. What for?!?!?

Hell, I have NOOOOOOOOOOOO desire to practice or train Judo in France. LOL!!!

I’ve had my butt kicked in France before during the French Open and at the training camp and just thinking about training in France gives me night sweats. LOL!

But I will pack my gi and hope that my ego doesn’t take over and suck me deep into a practice session. (I can see it happening though. Ugh!)

=============
As soon as we get
back
=============

As soon as we get back to the United States I have to prepare for my seminar on the 27th and 28th of April on Jujigatame. I am really looking forward to training, practicing and getting the repetitions performed. I’m also looking forward to teaching on deliberate practice and its importance in learning and fully digesting knowledge.

I’m looking forward to seeing you in Tampa on the 27th and 28th. The experience will be worth every penny. –> http://www.TinyUrl.com/TeachMeDoc

And I want my son to understand greatness too.

Folks who have achieved GREATNESS did not get it by “sleeping in.”

So I woke his ass up this morning and I got mine up too and I worked out and took him to a private judo lesson, run by yours truly. And Rufus’s friend and training partner Peyton will meet Rufus at the dojo with his parents for 90 minutes and then Rufus and I will go back home and his friend will go to baseball practice.

This is JUST HOW THINGS GET DONE BY PARENTS WHO WANT TO GET THINGS DONE!!!

So, get up and get things done. Get your rest, BUT DON’T SLEEP!!
