Who is the King Of
Morote Gari?

===============

There’s absolutely no denying it….

I am THE KING OF MOROTE GARI.

I will submit that Taraje Williams-Murray is the King
of Kataguruma, but I am the King of Morote Gari…..
HANDS DOWN! Without argument.

I have been all over the world and have been asked
about my Morote Gari. I was known all over the world
for my Morote Gari and I’ve been asked to show it
and demonstrate it at EVERY clinic that I’ve done
and I have refused to do so.

Why?

Because I just did not think or believe that the judo
world was ready to be shocked, surprised and quite
frankly disappointed.

I mean really disappointed.

Let’s be honest.

Many of you have seen me compete and beat some
pretty darn good competitors only to complain, gripe
and whine and say, “Rhadi uses too much strength
and not enough technique.”

I shrug off such comments and put them in the garbage
can where they belong because I’ve watched many tennis
matches where they attribute the winning of Venus and
Serena Williams to athletic superiority but never comment
on how intelligent they are or how well they place the ball.

I guess some people see what they want to see based
upon whom they are watching  :-)

But I can assure you, ball placement is super important in
Tennis and you can win without being technically superior
and you can’t perform a technique with the success percentage
that I had without being technically superior at it.

As I said before and as many people have told me as well…..

I AM THE KING OF MOROTE GARI.

Morote Gari”

=============

Many of you know and some of you don’t that 2X Olympian
Taraje Williams-Murray, who was one of my clients and
is a colleague of mine now, and I are coming out with a
new DVD in the near future on Morote Gari.

Morote Gari will be the first DVD in our new DVD set
entitled “Ugly Judo”. This DVD will be the first DVD of its
kind to actually dissect and break down the intracacies
of Morote Gari.

We will cover how to do it and how you should train in order
to do it.

We also give away the secrets of closing the distance.

These are the same secrets that we discussed with one of the
Gunnery Seargents at the Marine Base in Quantico, Virginia.

He was surprised that we knew these things as combat
sports athletes, but I told him everyone doesn’t know this
stuff, only those who really study the “distance game”.

I am very sure that many of you will walk away after watching
this DVD with at least 2 or 3 “Aha Moments”.

Those of you who have my products like “The Grind” will see
clearly how I set up my matches and played my opponents
like a game of chess.

You will look differently at the move that many reduced by
calling it a mere “rugby tackle”.  You will see that there is
a method to doing it and understanding how to do it.

You will also understand that having a wrestling background
could possibly help but is not a guarantee that you will be
good at this technique.  THE WRESTLING DOUBLE LEG
IS NOT MOROTE GARI.

Once again…. although Morote Gari is a double leg takedown
technique, IT IS NOT THE SAME DOUBLE LEG TAKEDOWN
that is performed in wrestling. It is VERY different.  VERY!

In the very near future you will be pleasantly surprised when
you are able to feast your eyes on our new DVD “Ugly Judo
101: Morote Gari”.

Believe when I tell you that Morote Gari is just as intricate and
complex as uchimata and/or sode tsuri komi goshi. If you could
just run out there and tackle somebody, everybody would be
doing it.  ;-)

In the next couple of days, I will provide you with some videos
to watch and review so that you can really get a good flavor
of what is going to be unleashed.

I have been and am going to continue to add the the current
body of knowledge of judo because I really love the sport and
I believe that judo is for everyone, not just for those who believe
it should be done one way.

There is more than one way to do judo. And if you are going
to do judo competitively there  is one way that it shouldn’t be
done and that way is THE GENTLE WAY!!!   Competitve judo
IS NOT GENTLE.  It involves punches to the face, bone jarring
throws, vicious cross-faces, blood drawing training camps,
fist fights on the mat, forearms in the throat, tweaked elbows
and shoulders, slings and casts, and medals and trophies to the fortunate.

And to the blessed ones and chosen few, the title of Olympian,
Olympic Medalists, World Medalists and World Champion.

Take care,

Rhadi Ferguson (a.k.a. “The Judo Crusader” and “The Morote Gari King”)
2004 Olympian
4-Time National Judo Champion
BJJ Black Belt
