Losing Sucks, but it is sooooooo good for you.
Losing Sucks, but it is sooooooo good for you.
Believe me.
I’m going to ask you one question and your answer will guide the rest of
this email.
Here it is…
Do you LEARN more when you win, or when you don’t win?
The answer is when you lose (or for the sake of this conversation, when
you don’t win)
When you don’t win, you study, analyze and try to find out the reason
why (well I hope that’s what you do – if you don’t START now).
Not Winning, is great. You should welcome it and celebrate it as an
opportunity to get better.
And when you do that, you won’t fear losing.
Just add losing to the series of challenges, struggles, trials and
tribulations which are necessary in order to become a champion.
You have an opportunity to become FANTASTIC in your faultiness, your
frailty and your fatigue.
What I used to do when I didn’t win was immediately put a smile on my
face.
NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER!!! Throw things on the floor, have a tantrum or
anything of the like.
I’ve done this a couple of times and I’ve even done it when I was a
seasoned professional – and I can tell you this….. When you look at
yourself on tape later, you look like a complete @sshole and a brat. And
that’s not me, but I’m sure that on that day, that’s the impression that
I gave off to onlookers and referees. So keep your cool even when you
get emotionally HOT!!
Although losing sucks… you never want to create a situaiton where you
make it easier for the referees to hand you another loss. Because
referees are like elephants…..
They don’t forget nothin’
Take care and next I teach you how
to schmooze the refs so you can win.
